humboldt park Neighborhood Overview

Humboldt Park is a neighborhood on the near West Side of Chicago. It is known for its dynamic and social and ethnic demographic changes over the years. Humboldt Parl is also the name of a 207-acre park adjacent to the community. The park and boulevard are lined with Graystone houses.

On this stretch of Division Street, you will find authentic Latin cuisine, specialty shopping and the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture, an invaluable ethnic tribute to the area's deeply-rooted heritage.

As an event that draws more than one-million people every year, the neighborhood's Puerto Rican People's Parade is one of the highest attended Latino celebrations in the country. And keeping with the festive theme, the area hosts Fiesta Boricua, an annual block party that draws tens of thousands of visitors every summer.
